Jerusalem prayer tour outmoded - Opoku Onyinah

Travelling to Jerusalem and other designated prayer centres to pray to god is outmoded, according to the chairman of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Dr Opoku Onyinah.

He said in ancient times worshippers were mandated to travel to Jerusalem annualy to offer sacrifices to God.

Apostle Opoku Onyinah said this in a sermon delivered at a function to dedicate the Deaconess Felicia Agyarko Karle Memorial Assembly Auditorium at Larteh in the Akwapim North Municipal Assembly of the Eastern Region.

The sermon was based on the church's theme for 2013, Worshipping in Spirit and Truth, John 4:16-26.

The chairman said the crucifiction, death and resurrection of jesus christ and the resulting split of the Jerusalem Temple signified the birth of a new worhsip style.

Apsotle Opoku Onyinah said the coming of jesus christ, the saviour of the world and events that took place marked the cessation of sacrifices.

Any Christian convert automatically becomes a living temple in whom god dwells.

A christian convert is free to worship god in all holiness and reverence anywhere and received the needed response and does not necessarily need to travel to Jerusalem which, according to him, is believed to be the holy city of god.

He appealed to converts who put their trust in prayer camps and other mushroom churches to utilise their god-given talents.

The man of god condemned certain christian practices and made references to the discourse between jesus christ and samaritan women.
