The Christian Council of Ghana and the Christ For All Nations church (CFAN) have launched a joint gospel crusade slated for the first week of December this year.
The crusade is expected to be held at the Tema-Ashaiman enclave and will feature the new president of CFAN, American Evangelist Daniel Kolenda, who took over from the founder of the ministry, Reinhard Bonnke, a German international evangelist.
It is being organized in partnership with the Council of Pentecostal and Charismatic Churches (CPCC) and the National Association of Charismatic and Christian Churches (NACCC).
This is the third time in 28 years that CFAN is mounting a crusade in the Tema area, the first being in 1987.
Speaking at the launch of the crusade, Executive Director for CFAN Africa region, Rev. Kwesi Darko observed that while it is the duty of religious organizations to intercede for nations, it must be pointed out that man is a free moral being created by God with the power to choose between good and evil.
He said “we of CFAN are convinced that it is the individual’s decision to opt for evil that has brought Africa to its knees. God will not force anyone to do what he or she does not want to do. He has given us His Spirit to guide and help us if we choose to do good. Before us is good and evil. Let us choose good that we may prosper.”
‘Greed: Cause of Africa’s poverty’
Rev Darko, who has handled CFAN crusades in more than 30 African countries in the past 30 years, dilating on Africa’s woes said the “cause of many problems confronting the continent is the inordinate greed of not only the politician but also the civil servant and the engineer who has to supervise the construction of roads, clinics and other infrastructures.”
“These three are the ones who collude with contractors to inflate the cost of public infrastructure through kick-backs and bribery,” the man of God added.
He urged Christians to unite in prayer for Ghana and the entire African continent.
