Koforidua, Sept. 27, GNA - The Church of Pentecost at Koforidua-Effiduase District, has dedicated and opened for use a GH¢140,000 mission house. The building, which was funded through church members' contributions, local congregations and fund raising, took three years to be completed. The Suhum Area Head of the Church of Pentecost, Apostle Emmanuel K. Akpabli in a sermon on Sunday, commended the church members for their selfless and dedicated spirit, which had seen the early completion of the building.

He said when Solomon put up the temple for the Lord, he received more blessings from God and that whoever contributed for the construction of the mission house, would receive abundance blessings from the creator. Apostle Akpabli urged Ghanaians to learn how to give than to receive in order to get total economic independence. The Eastern Regional Minister, Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, who was the special guest of honour, commended Church members for not relying on outside support to fund the project, but rather contributed from whatever they had to see its completion. He appealed to churches to take the disability law into consideration when putting up church buildings by making their facilities disability friendly.

Mr Ofosu-Ampofo took the opportunity to educate Church members on the importance of the ongoing National Population and Housing Census and urged them to take the exercise serious because it would afford Government the opportunity to plan well for the country. He urged the people not to be afraid to give information to the census enumerators since whatever they discuss with the officials would be confidential.

The Regional Minister commended the Church for contributing to the socio-economic development of Ghana through the provision of quality education and other social interventions. He urged the Church to also support other sectors such as health and to engage in prisons ministry. The Koforidua Effiduase District of the Church, which was inaugurated on September 2005, inherited an uncompleted building. In consultation with the then Area Head, Prophet E. Appiah Agyekum, the uncompleted building was sold. A new plot of land was later acquired and the new building started in 2007.
