The ever-vivacious Legon Pentecostals Union (LPU), one of the mother bodies of all Christian groups on University of Ghana campus, is forty (40) years old!

Established in 1976 to raise a generation of Bible-believing, charismatic Christians, LPU has been the body out of which many campus ministries has sprung out.

Celebrating 40 years of God’s goodness, the campus ministry has laid out eventful programs spread out through the year to bring together alumni all over the world.

Under the theme “40 years of LPU- Ebenezer!’ the executive council of the ministry is planning to bring together all the great minds who were once members; especially those who are at the helm of national affairs today.

“God has been very good to us all these 40 years,” Mr. Ekow Amanfu, an alumnus, said to Abrantepa.com. “Today, the nation can boast of great broadcasters and ministers of the gospel who honed their skills in LPU because of the opportunity was given them to serve. Two of such broadcasters are Samson Ayenini Lardy of News File on JoyNews and Bernard Avle of Citi FM.”

Still counting God’s goodness, LPU continues to raise generations with impactful skills and talents. “You can’t pass through LPU and remain the same,” the banker added.

LPU’s 40th anniversary will be launched on Sunday, 20th March 2016 on University of Ghana campus.

The month of climax of the anniversary is October where various activities such as Career Forum/Speed Mentorship, Awards Night Anniversary Dinner and Jubilation (thanksgiving service) will take place.

The packed, spirit-filled climax begins on 22nd October with a brass band procession through Legon campus and its environs.
