Let’s act together to tackle growing immorality - Rev Antwi-Agyei

A retired educationist has urged the church to provide the needed leadership to bring down the growing waywardness of the country’s youth.

Reverend Peter Solomon Antwi-Agyei, said there is the need to intensify the church’s evangelization to turn the people, especially the young ones away from bad conduct.

He said the growing practice of occultism, addiction to drugs and alcohol, sexual adventurism and promiscuity, should become a source of discomfort to everybody and must be tackled head-on.

Rev Antwi-Agyei said this when delivering the sermon at the sixth graduation ceremony held by the Ghana Christian University College (GCUC), where five pastors graduated after the completion of a one-year pastoral training course and were presented with certificates.

He said as men of God, they should be bold to speak against wrong deeds in the society and help raise the “moral threshold” and become good examples to others.

He reminded them to focus not only on the spiritual development of the people but their physical well being as well.

Rev Antwi-Agyei used the occasion to remind all qualified voters who have not yet registered in the on-going biometric voter registration to do so.

Dr Manuel Budu Adjei, President of the GCUC, said their goal is to train pastors to lead the transformation of the society.

He said the College has planned to open other campuses in addition to the existing ones in Kumasi, Ho and Accra.**
