Mankessim (C/R), Oct 2, GNA - The Mankessim Circuit of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission on Tuesday organised a feast to mark the end of this year's Ramadan. The celebration, which was attended by Ahmadis from all 22 communities forming the circuit, was also to round-off the celebration of the Khilafat Centenary.
The Khilafat Centenary, which was celebrated in Ghana mid-April this year, was in commemoration of the succession of Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, the Messiah which the Holy Prophet Muhammad promised Muslims. Mr Shuaib Asiedu, circuit president, called on members of the sect to reckon their past with the fundamentals of the Islamic religion, as well as national development.
"Let us reflect on how we are preparing the future for the next generation," Mr Asiedu stated.
As part of the celebration, Osofo Mohammad Abdul Majeed, Circuit Missionary, led hundreds of Ahmadiyya faithful to pray at the Baifikrom Municipal Assembly School Park. Osofo Majeed cautioned Muslims, especially the youth to comport themselves during the upcoming elections. "You must not allow politicians to influence you to foment trouble," the Osofo stressed. The congregation prayed for peaceful elections.
