Mr George Omane, immediate past National Chairman of the Association of the Methodist Men’s Fellowship, has urged members to adhere strictly to the aims and objectives of the Fellowship, to maintain its prestige and image.
He said the core business of witnessing for Christ should not be lost in an effort to attract more people into the Fellowship.
Mr Omane was speaking at an inauguration and induction service for the Atwima-Manhyia Wesley branch of the Fellowship within the Abuakwa-Asenemaso Circuit of the Kumasi Diocese of the Methodist Church.
The immediate past National Chairman admonished members of the Fellowship, to mobilize men of the church to fellowship with one another, and help alleviate hardships in times of need.
He called on the newly-inducted executives to offer effective leadership, co-operate with other church organizations, and take active part in all church programmes.
Mr Edward Asante-Nketia, Kumasi Diocesan Chairman of the Fellowship, said the branch was the105th to be inaugurated in the Diocese, and urged members to live by the Fellowship's noble ideals.
He also advised them to join the group insurance policy of the Diocese, to enjoy the benefits it offers members.
Mr Asante- Nketia said the Diocese had reached an advanced stage in its efforts to construct a 100-bed capacity hostel to assist in its revenue generation activities.
Very Reverend Samuel Budu-Arthur, the Minister in charge of Atwima-Manhyia Wesley Methodist Church, who preached on “The Role of Men in the Church and Society,” said overseers must live above reproach, be self- controlled, and help manage affairs of the church.
He urged the members to get deeply involved in the programmes of the church to encourage the youth to emulate such qualities.
