The Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Samuel Kofi Ahiave Dzamesi, is leading a group of Christians on pilgrimage to Israel.

The Ministry has been helping Christians who wish to embark on the pilgrimage, with the maiden edition coming on last year.

Mr. Dzamesi confirmed that this year the ministry is sending about 200 pilgrims to Israel to pray for the nation.

The Minister himself joined in as part of the Christian pilgrims embarking on the visit to the holy site of Israel.

He disclosed that, the pilgrims will visit various historical sites identified in the Bible, as part of their activities when they arrive in Israel.

He said the Ministry is committed to ensuring the meditation of the religious bodies, while advising pilgrims to comport themselves and be of good behaviour.

An Elder of the Church of Pentecost, Awoshie District, Emmanuel B.B. Akuamoah was pleased that government is helping to facilitate the pilgrimage.

According to him, it is a significant initiative, which presents pilgrims the opportunity to experience some of the things they have read in the Bible about the birth of Jesus Christ.

Each pilgrim will pay $27,000 as fare – the same amount they paid during last year’s pilgrimage.
