Kumasi, May 24, GNA- Dr. Seth Laryea, President of the Valley View University (VVU) has charged Ministers of the Gospel to cherish moral upliftment in order to dignify the ministry of God and glorify Jesus Christ.

He said it was disheartening to hear that some so called men of God engaged in all sort of immoral acts, including rape, adultery and others in the name of God. Speaking to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Kumasi after ordaining six new pastors for the South Central Ghana Conference of the Seventh day Adventist Church (SDA) in Kumasi on Saturday, Dr. Laryea implored men of God to stop defaming God.

At the ordination itself, Dr. Laryea advised pastors of the church to emulate Barnabas in the Bible and stop complaining whenever they were transferred from one place of ministry to another. The ordinands were Pastor Samuel Agyemang, Pastor Joseph Aboagye Baffour, Pastor Johnson Otchere, Pastor Preprah Mensah Bonsu, Pastor Ernest Owusu Akyaw and Pastor Fredrick Nnubeng. They have completed Religion and Theology programmes at the VVU. Speaking on the theme: "Pastor Respect Your People and people Respect Your Pastor," Dr. Laryea, advised the ordained pastors to live exemplary lives for others to follow and also not to feel reluctant in dispatching their duties but have faith and allow the Holy Spirit to fill their hearts with His grace.

"This ordination service does not mean the end of your ministration but a milestone to the journey with Christ", Dr. Laryea told the new pastors. He advised people to stop the "pull him down" attitude, since it would not help enhance the development of the nation. Pastor Samuel A. Larmie, President of the Ghana Union Conference (GUC), of the SDA Church charged the pastors to minister as watchmen, be ready in season and out of season, endure afflictions, teach people to become leaders to lead people in the way of the Lord.
