The Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhaji Muhammed Muniru-Lemuna, has called on the residents of the Northern dissent to endeavour to sustain the current peace been enjoyed by the inhabitants of the region.
This he said would significantly boost on the socio-economic and the infrastructural advancement of the region. The speech was read on his behalf by the Metropolitan Chief Executive of Tamale, Honourable Abdul- Hannan Gundaado, at the Eid uL- Fitr celebration in Tamale. Alhaji Muhammed Muniru- Lemuna used the occasion and reminded the Muslim folks about the the ample lessons of RAMADAN which teaches Muslims Self-discipline, piety, brotherliness and above all peace with one another for which they must strive to imbued in them these exemplary virtues in other to ensure peace and harmony in the northern enclaves.
He said the Security apparatus in the region are ever ready to deal with any act of lawlessness thereby maintaining law and other when the need arises.
Alhaji Lemuna, assured the people of the region that government of John Dramani Mahama, is doing all possible best to addressed the bottlenecks in the economy in order to alleviate the plight of the Ghanaian citizens.
In his Sermon The Northern Regional Chief Imam of the Tamale Central Mosque, Alhaji Abdul Salamu, added his call about the need for the security agencies to be proactive in dealing with any looming threats to ensure absolute protection of lives and properties.
Alhaji Abdul Salam, used the occasion to enjoyed all political parties in the country to stop the politics of vendetta and insult since it has the tendency to destabilize the nation.
He further entreated Muslims to as a matter of priority give their children a better education in order to become responsible citizens for the country.
Notably at the grounds was a one man campaigner holding a placard with the inscription “OH ALLAH RESCUE THE PALESTINIANS” who was apparently seeking for some sort of intervention to stop spilling the innocent bloods of Palestinians from the venoms of the Israelis.
Meanwhile, the Ambariya Sunny Muslim Community Led by their Chief Imam Shiek Sa-eed Zakaria, marked their prayers the following day, in his preaching’s he was quick to Condemned the Israeli insurgency campaigns on Palestinians, while appealing to the international power blocs to stop the carnages.
Imam Sa-eed, also bemoaned about the Booko Haram menace in Nigeria, saying is un-Islamic adding that Islam vehemently frowned upon terrorism.
The Deputy Northern Regional Minister, Honourable Alhaji. A. B. A. Fuseini, who graced the occasion at the Ambariya prayers, stressed that in spite of the economic challenges the country is grappling with the president John Dramani Mahama, administration has aggressively embarked on some key projects in the region.
These he catalogues in the area of Roads, Community Electrification projects and the water expansion project, saying that the Tamale to WA which commuters hitherto spend long hours because of the deplorable nature of the road – network has known been tarried.
He further urged all and sundry in the region a Happy Eidul Fitir Celebration.
