Muslims depart Sunyani for Accra enroute to perform Hajj

Sunyani, Oct. 14, (Nana Osei Kyeretwie) GNA – Thirty-two pilgrims made up of 20 men and 12 women from from the Brong-Ahafo Region have left Sunyani for Accra enroute to Saudia Arabia to perform the Hajj.

The journey was organised under the auspices of the Mastafala Hajj Group, an Islamic Traveling and Tour Company in Accra through its office in Sunyani.


Speaking to the Ghana News Agency in Sunyani Mr. Ahmed Abdulai Ishaak, regional director of the company, appealed to Moslems to continue to promote peace in the country.


"Peace is basically what the ethics and teachings of the Islamic religion revolves around and that is what all Moslems must promote," he said.

Mr Ishaak stressed: “As Hajj is one of the major pillars of the religion, every Moslem should endeavour to take that journey once in his or her lifetime”.


Mr Ishaak, making the pilgrimage for the first time, expressed appreciation to the government for assisting to make the trip easy for Moslims.


He expressed the hope that this would be sustained for the benefit of future pilgrims.
