The 2012 National Women’s Budget Summit and Finance Expo will be held in Accra in October to afford women from all sectors of the economy, especially the small and medium enterprises sector, to dialogue on the budget.
The two-day conference will run between October 29 and 30.
The women’s finance expo is expected to bring together banks, investment firms, micro-finance institutions such as savings and loans as well as MDA’S that have innovative policy, creative products and services that financially impact on women directly or which they can benefit from.
There will also be a session on women’s personal finance and investment.
A statement from the organisers said whilst the first day of the Summit would be devoted to discussions on the macro-economic and policy environment it would mainly deal with the National Budget and its impact on women and their livelihoods.
The second day will traditionally highlight the micro economic issues dealing with how to grow personal finance and investments, understanding the micro finance options available and banking services that women can access.
The statement said over 1,350 women delegates would attend the two-day event aimed at putting together the national women’s budget summit, the women’s finance expo and the Women’s Financial Information & Resources Centre Ghana.
