Edumfa (C/R) Feb. 1, GNA - Akaboha Mokena Jeeba Fifie Jehu Appiah IV, the new Spiritual Head and Leader of the Musama Disco Christo Church (MDCC), has visited Edumafa, the birth place of the founder of the Church, Akaboha Jehu-Appiah I to seek spiritual blessings and support from his late father's family and also introduced himself to members of the Church in the circuit.
He was accompanied by some national executives of the Church including, Reverend Jonasoma Sammy Jehu-Appiah, General Secretary, Reverend Jubamolda Jehu-Appiah, Abusuapanyin (clan head) of Jehunano, Opanyin Eyeson, Prophet Alexius H Jehu-Appiah, Public Relations Minister.
A large crowd including members of the Church met the leader and his elders about half a kilometre from the town to welcome them. Nana Akaw III, head of the Akaboha family and elder of the local branch of the Church who received them at the family house later prayed for God's guidance, protection and wisdom for him to lead the Church successfully.
He commended the leaders for remembering the founder of the Church and expressed the hope that the new leader would perform his duties in accordance with laid down regulations and rules of the Church to ensure peace and harmony.
Rev Jubamolda Jehu-Appiah introduced the new leader to members of the Church in the Edumfa circuit who had gathered to welcome their leaders. In a short history of the Church, Rev. Jubamolda Jehu-Appiah said, the late Akaboha I started his pastoral work as a catechist with the Methodist Church of Ghana at Gomoa Dunkwa in 1919 where he formed a special prayer group within it. He said, when Akaboha I left the Church he moved to nearby Gomoa Oguan to form the MDCC Church in 1922 and later moved to Gomoa Mozano, the present place of the Church in 1950. Addressing the gathering, the new leader said his priority would be on Health and Education, adding that education was key to development and urged members to send their children to school. He appealed to members to register with the National Health Insurance Scheme to enable them to have access to quality medical attention when they fall sick.
