Obinim is a magician - Korankye Ankrah
The Apostle General of the Royal House Chapel Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah has berated controversial man of God Bishop Obinim, who claims he can metamorphose into a snake or a dog in the spiritual realm.
The General Overseer of the International Godsway Ministries has dominated discussions on social media after a video of him went viral, boasting he once transformed into a snake with Jesus by his side who also transformed into a lion.
Rev. Ankrah has described such claims as “sad” and pure “magic” which has brought the name of God into disrepute.
“It is sad,” Rev. Ankrah told Bola Ray on Starr Chat Wednesday.
He stressed that Obinim’s assertion is “unbiblical, unchristian, magic and I don’t know what came up of him.”
The man of God noted it is difficult to regulate the activities of the church since a lot of the men of God are “freelancers”, stressing most of these clergies “must be made to belong to one of these council overseeing bodies.”
Rev. Ankrah stated: “And people are making fun and I feel ashamed and the question is who is bringing the preacher [Obinim] to book. Who is ensuring before you mount the pulpit you are qualified and licensed to do that.
“These people are not members of our Council and it’s difficult to stretch our hands. They are freelancers and it is [difficult to deal with them]. Everyone who is leading people by preaching must be made to belong to one of these council overseeing bodies so when they go to that excesses they are checked.”
However, he added that he and other men of God are “willing” to help Obinim to keep to his tracks.
Rev. Ankrah was born to J. O. Ankrah and Victoria Ziddah on February 23, 1960, the 22nd of his father’s 24 children and the fifth of his mother’s seven children.
His mother, a Presbyterian, had him baptized as Samuel in the Presbyterian Church. He attended Accra High School and Saint John’s Grammar Secondary School in Accra.
He was inspired to pursue a career in religion following a visit by the evangelistic group Joyful Way Incorporated on campus.
He later attended the University of Ghana, where he started the Showers of Blessing Incorporated (SOBI) evangelistic ministry in 1984.
He also holds certificates in Christian Leadership, from Haggai Institute in Singapore and Management and Entrepreneurship certificate from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA).
