Obosomase (E/R), Feb. 27, GNA - Obosomase Presbyterian Church of Gha= na, Ebenezer Congregation, in the Akuapem North District of the Eastern Region, has put up a manse (mission house) worth GH¢250,000. The construction of the manse which consists four bedrooms, a lavatory= , a porch, offices in addition to other facilities, started under the leadership of the former Resident Minister, Reverend Paulina Dankwa. Reverend Dr Joseph Obiri Yeboah Mante, Akuapem Presbytery Chairperson, dedicated the building on Sunday to God Almighty.
The Presbyterian Church of Ghana's theme for 2011 is 93Empowered by= the Holy Spirit". Rev. Mante said the manse was to help with the empowering process for the mission of God through Christ Jesus. He congratulated the visionary leaders of the project, saying this would end the long suffering of accommodation problem of resident ministers of the church in Obosomase.
Rev. Mante called on the congregation to help the resident Minister to maintain the structure to the admiration of God. In addition, he said, failure to have regular maintenance plan would derail all the toil and sweat of members.
Rev Paulina Dankwa, now the Resident Minister of the Akim Oda Presbyterian Church of Ghana, delivering the sermon, said Christians should avail themselves to be empowered by the Holy Spirit. "When the Lord God does not empower you with the Holy Spirit, You cannot do anything to glorify his name," she added. She said some people called themselves Christians, but what they forgo= t was that they were impersonating Christianity, because they did not have what it took to be Christians.
She noted that what Christians should be doing was to fight for their souls to inherit the kingdom of God, rather than struggling for earthly materials.
Rev Dankwa said before anything could be done and done well, it required determination, so Christians should not lose sight of the fact tha= t they were the children of God.
She thanked the chiefs and people of Obosomase for creating the congenial atmosphere for growth and development of Christianity in the area= .. The Obosomase Ebenezer Congregation was established on May 22, 1922 with the introduction of missionary activities in the area by Andreas Riss and George Lutteriodt.
