Kumasi, April 5, GNA - Pastor Dr Kwame Kwanin Boakye, President of South Central Ghana Conference (SCGC) of the Seventh Day Adventist (SDA) church, has called on Christians to be more dedicated to the work of God and make the necessary sacrifices as Christ did to bring progress to society. He said the human body was God's temple in which the spirit of God dwelt, and warned that those who desecrate this temple, which should be kept pure and holy, would face the wrath of the Lord.

He was speaking at the 25th anniversary celebration and inauguration of the Four (4) Garrison Central SDA church building at the Uaddara Barracks in Kumasi.

The church was established at the barracks in 1985. Pastor Dr Kwanin said it was time Christians refrained from evil and made God's temple clean by accepting to live in total peace and in harmony with their neighbours.

Brigadier General Christopher Ocran, Officer Commanding the Northern Command of the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF), described the occasion as memorable since it served as benchmark for measuring development and progress, and to also celebrate achievements.

He praised the church for its spirituality, discipline and dietary standards and said these had had significant influence on the lives of many Ghanaians including soldiers.

This has helped the soldiers to exercise high sense of self-control and self-sacrifice in the performance of their duties, he added.
