Ho, Nov. 6, GNA- Reverend Doug Bullock, Senior Pastor, Eastern Hills Bible Church, Manilus, New York, USA, on Monday urged pastors and Church leaders to assess their lifestyles and change for the better, so that they could effectively assist in transforming society. He said, "You can not sit in the comfort of your questionable lifestyles and ask people to change, change your lifestyles first, for people to emulate that."
Rev. Bullock made the call at the beginning of a two-day seminar, organised by Faith In God Assembly (FIGA), Ghana, in partnership with the Bible Church and Crossroads Community Church, Chittenago, New York, USA, for pastors and other Church leaders, in Ho. The event that was being attended by over 1000 pastors and other Church leaders from the Ho Municipality was under the theme "Sharpening The Focus of Your Leadership."
Rev. Bullock asked Church leaders "to endeavour to quit all actions that militate against the gospel, walk on the rough seas of life and try to reach Jesus who is your role model." He said challenges and problems that they might face in the course of their work represented the rough sea on which they were expected to walk on to reach Jesus.
Rev. Bullock advised them to seek the support of Jesus to enable them triumph over such problems adding "You are just tools in the hands of your master, therefore you must be humble, honest obedient and live according to your own teachings."
Rev. Mick Keville, the Pastor of Crossroads Community Church, said the seminar was aimed at educating participants on the tools and motivation needed to enable them to take good care of their flock and also to establish new Churches.
He urged them to resist all attempts to succumb to the machinations of the devil and that Jesus Christ would not allow them to sink in the rough sea of tribulations.
Rev. Keville commended Church leaders in Ghana for their contribution to the peace that the country was enjoying. Rev. Francis Sowu, General Overseer of FIGA, appealed to Christians who were the Church as a shield to indulge in nefarious activities to turn over a new leaf as the day of reckoning was near.
