Pastors have been urged to depend on God and be steadfast in their calling to be able to attain their God-given potentials.
Reverend Prince Tefe, Synod Clerk of the Global Evangelical Church, gave the advice in a sermon on the theme: “The School of Brokenness” at the Commissioning Service of Nine Pastors of the Church at Adonai Chapel, Madina, near Accra.
He said everyone has a calling but one needs to yield to it, pass through the school of brokenness, where one is prepared by God, to successfully play their role as a child of God.
“The reason many of us are still struggling in life and are not assuming our positions is that, we want everything the cheap way,” he said, warning the commissioned pastors that, “the journey will not be rosy”, but God would lead them to achieve greater things.
Rev Tefe said there would be obstacles and people would test their calling but in all these, God would provide them with the wisdom to face the difficulties.
“If you want to become what God wants you to become, you can’t run away, you have to pass through this school,” he said.
The commissioned pastors were Rev Afari Francis Kofi, Rev Ameko Ephraim Kofi, Rev Amemor Christian Kwaku, and Rev Cleanseman Joe.
The others were Rev Enuanyo Richmond Melchizedek Kwame, Rev Kwadzo William Emmanuel Kwasi, Rev Nusenu Hopeson, Rev Ocansey Winfred Prince and Rev Wettor Ben Kwadzo.
They were taken through the Commissioning Vows by the Rt Rev Dr Edem Tettey, Moderator of the Global Evangelical Church, pledging to faithfully discharge their duties, dedicate their time and strength to the service of God and humankind and seek unity and peace.
The commissioned pastors, who passed out from the Global Theological Seminary of the Church with Diplomas in Theology would serve in various parts of the country for two years after which they would be ordained.
