The Standing Committee of the Kasoa District of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana on Wednesday 15th April, 2020 provided relief items to the vulnerable and the aged within its pastoral district most especially person in the lockdown area. The donation forms part of the the church’s social responsibility.
In all, one hundred and ten (110) households were targeted for the relief package. The targeted population includes the aged, single mothers, sick, widows and the poor. Items per package included bag of rice, tin fish, canned tomatoes and vegetable cooking oil.
The District Minister, Rev. Stephen K. Anarfi believes that the church at this crucial moment in the life of mankind where the world is on its knees needs to rise up, show concern by providing support to those in need and also pray fervently to cast the deadly virus out of the world.
He used the opportunity to call on well meaning individuals to offer help in all forms to mitigate the effect of the COVID-19 on individuals, their communities and the nation as a whole.
The food packages were distributed to the various congregations and preaching points in Kasoa for onward supply to the target population.
