Tamale, July 23, GNA - Right Reverend Dr Yaw Frimpong-Manso, Moderator of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has urged ministers of God to be humble and patient with the institution of the church in which they had been called to work.

Rev Frimpong-Manso said some pastors had neglected to fulfil their obligations concerning visitations to the sick, the poor and vulnerable and payment of assessments.

He said those same pastors did not attend meetings nor did they submit statistical data about their activities. Rev. Frimpong-Manso made the call on Sunday at the ordination of eleven Ministers of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana in Tamale. The ordination, which was the last in the series for the year was done for ministers who had satisfactorily completed their two years probation and initial service to the church.

He said some Ministers of God did not report to their stations on time when they were transferred, thereby blocking others from moving to their new stations, a situation he said, was affecting the Ministry of God. He expressed concern about the portrayal of pornographic, violent and ritualistic scenes in the movies either produced in the country or patronized from abroad.

The Moderator also expressed worry about the indiscriminating invasion of people's privacy by the media, which he said adversely affected them by either tarnishing their reputation or bringing them to ridicule. "It could be observed that despite the positive factors, some aspects of the media give cause for concern," he said. Rev. Frimpong-Manso urged the newly ordained Ministers to play their advocacy roles in guiding, evangelizing, and harnessing the energies and possibilities of new modes of communication.
