Protect state properties - Youth urged

Fiapre (B/A) Jan. 12, GNA - Very Reverend Alexander Addae, Sunyani Circuit Synod Secretary of the Methodist Church, has advised the youth to be law-abiding by protecting state properties. He noted that the country's income depended on increased productivity and that could only be attained if people particularly the youth abide by the rules and regulations governing institutions.

Very Reverend Addae was addressing members of the Sunyani Circuit Methodist Guild Fellowship at an end of year party at Fiapre, near Sunyani at the weekend. He deplored the attitude of some public workers who absent themselves from work or use working hours for their personal businesses, saying such attitude is a sin against God.

Very Rev. Addae also urged the youth to lead exemplary lifestyles to help raise the image of the church. "The government alone cannot make things better in the country hence the need for every individual to contribute his or her quota to advance the nation's development," Rev Addae stressed. He implored the youth to eschew smoking and alcoholism and to take their education seriously in order to achieve high academic laurels.
