The Most Rev. Charles Gabriel Palmer-Buckle, the Metropolitan Archbishop of Accra on Sunday stressed the need for Christians to build a family of faith, love and unity.
Making the call at the Golden Jubilee celebration of the Queen of Peace Catholic Church at Madfina on the theme: "Come, Let Us Build a Family of Faith, Love and Unity, Archbishop Palmer-Buckle explained that God the Father and the Holy Spirit honoured her, and added that she would be blessed, as indicated in Saint Luke's Gospel.
The Metropolitan Archbishop explained that in the Book of Revelation, Mary was a model of all Christians, and therefore called on Christians to use this Golden Jubilee Celebration as a year of peace, jubilation and reconciliation with all mankind.
He added that Mary was a woman of faith and humility.
Most Rev Palmer-Buckle asked married couples to invite Mother Mary into their marriages.
He urged Christians to increase their belief in the Almighty God.
The Metropolitan Archbishop prayed for God's guidance and protection for all Ghanaians
The Archbishop further prayed for the President, the Judiciary, Parliamentarians, Political Parties and the striking medical doctors, for God's peace to prevail on them.
Mr John Kofi Osei, Deputy Chief of Staff, on behalf of the President, urged the Church to partner the government in its development efforts to improve the lives of Ghanaians.
Mr Osei added that as a people, Ghanaians could stamp out acts of malfeasance from our society, and this could be achieved through our collective faith, love for each other and unity in our families, the church and work places.
Rev Father James Owusu-Yeboah, the Superior of the Society of African Missions (SMA) recounted the good works of the society in the past 50 years.
He urged Ghanaians to instill discipline, order and examplary lives to the present and future generations.
He noted that the Catholic church was credited with the development of the spiritual and physical growth of mankind, and was optimistic that it could play a leading role in stemming the tide of moral turpitude.
He emphasized that government would continue to support the church in its efforts to build a prosperous and peaceful nation.
Prizes were awarded to 10 founding members of the church.
The Queen of Peace Catholic Church which started in Madina in 1965 now has a membership of over 3,000.
Alhaji Amadu Sorogoh, Member of Parliament for Madina donated an electric generator to the Madina Catholic Church.
