Reverend K. S Misrowoda, the Resident Pastor of the Global Evangelical Church, Ablekumah Fan Milk, has called on Christians to read the word of God daily to strengthen their faith in Him.

He said together with the reading of the scriptures, they should also live in harmony with one another and be devoted to one another, as Christ loved the church.

"In all these struggles and other challenges, love one another," he said.

Rev Misrowoda gave the advice in an interview with the GNA, during the December 31 watch night service to usher in the New Year in Accra.

During the service, worshipers clad in white apparel, sang, danced and thanked God as they welcomed the New Year.

Rev Misrowoda said even though there would be difficulties, Christians should keep their hope on the Lord for better days, adding "have faith in the Lord and do not lose sight of his guiding principles."

He exhorted them to look forward to the New Year with optimism, trust and faith in God and they should walk according to God's plan for their lives.

He led members of the congregation in making thanks giving prayers and committing the New Year and the Nation into the hands of the Lord.

A watch night service is a late-night Christian church service held on New Year's Eve. It provides the opportunity for Christians to review the year that has passed and prepare for the year ahead.
