Religious leaders urged to fight social evils

The Spiritual Leader and Primate of the Brotherhood Church, Right Reverend Seth K. Adofo, has urged his colleague religious leaders to step up efforts at helping to purge the society of crime and other social evils.

The growing incidence of spousal killing, homosexuality, suicide and robbery, he said are worrying.

The Church and Mosque should use their enormous influence on the people to aid them to reject wickedness and injustice.

He was speaking at a book launch in Kumasi titled “Church of the Lord (Brotherhood), History, Challenges and Growth.”

The 243-page book was authored by one Mr. Thomas A. Oduro.

It gives the history of the church, statement of faith, oath of covenant, its constitution and the biography of its leaders.

The first copy was auctioned at GH¢500.00.

Primate Adofo encouraged Christians to become good examples to the rest of the society through self-discipline, respect for law and order and service to humanity.

He said his expectation was that the members of the church would keep themselves adequately informed about its mission and teachings.

This would help to deepen their faith and grow the church.

Professor Albert Quansah, a Senior Lecturer at the School of Medical Sciences, Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology praised the church for coming out with the book.

He said he had no doubt that it would assist many to have better understanding of the church.**
