Religious leaders urged to use the pulpit to unite the people

Koforidua, Oct. 23, GNA - Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Eastern Regional Minister, has called on religious leaders to use the pulpit to preach for peace and unity to help check the polarization of the country. He was speaking at the Church of Pentecost Men's Fellowship (PEMEF), Festival of Praise and Worship on Saturday. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo regretted the open exhibition of indiscipline by the youth at almost all social gatherings and appealed to parents and guardians to advise them to refrain from those acts.

He said such acts impacted negatively on their character formation which turned to affect the development and progress of the country. He challenged parents to invest in the education of their children as a complement to the efforts of government and guard against spending too much on funerals, clothes and wedding ceremonies. Apostle Ousmane Zabre, Acting Chairman of the Church of Pentecost, urged the congregation to let the challenges facing the youth be of concern to them and help raise them in a way that they would be of benefit to the country.

Apostle N. A. O. Amegatcher, National Director of PEMEF, advised men to stop molesting and cheating their wives and refrain from insulting their children at the least provocation.
