Hohoe (V/R), March 15, GNA - The Very Reverend Japhet Y. Ledo, Forme= r Moderator of the General Assembly of the E. P. Church, Ghana has exhorted Ghanaians especially Christians not to wait for miracles but rather work fo= r it. He said a combination of prayer and hard work was capable of solving the myriads of problems confronting the State.
Rev. Ledo made the exhortation at the National Week of Fasting, Prayer and Thanksgiving, which coincided with the induction of Rev William Sakoe a= s the Central Presbytery Chairman of the Church, at Hohoe. He noted that the relative peace and tranquillity in the country, whic= h is referred to as a beacon of hope for the Continent of Africa, is a Divine gift.
Rev. Ledo called on the Church, a crucial partner in development to champion a crusade to cultivate the virtues of humility, steadfastness and hard work while mainstreaming the fight against corruption and other negative tendencies.
He said it was God who ordained leadership and reminded political and religious leaders that the 93hallmark of every leader is to be servant of servers and not lord it over the people".
He entreated Rev. Sakoe to brace the storm by a heart that would accommodate all challenges and exemplify Christ at all times. Rev. Sakoe said the 93Better Ghana" agenda could only come to fruit= ion when there was a mutual relationship between leadership and the citizenry. He called for the prudent management of the economy and fairness in th= e distribution of the national resources. Rev. Sakoe pledged to discharge his duty with humility. Intercessory prayers were said for the political leadership and sectors of the economy for God's guidance and prosperity.
