The Right Reverend Dr. Emmanuel Kwadwo Asare-Kusi has been inducted into office as the Bishop of the Koforidua Diocese of the Methodist Church.

Rt. Rev. Asare-Kusi, former Circuit Minister for the Adweso Circuit of the Methodist Church near Koforidua was elected bishop at the last synod of the Church in April this year.

Bishop Asare-Kusi, 58, was ordained into the priesthood in 1993.

Preaching the sermon at the induction ceremony, Most Rev. Dr Paul Boafor, the Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church reminded the new Bishop that he was being inducted into office at the time when the priesthood had been infiltrated by people who were preaching false teachings.

He therefore urged Bishop Asare-Kusi to preach the word of God wherever he found himself

Most Rev. Dr Boafor warned Bishop Asare-Kusi not to think that because of his experience as evangelism and a Church planter, he would be able to achieve his mandate as a Bishop by relying on his experience alone and said he would always need the grace of God.

Most Rev Boafor said at appropriate time; the Church would take on some of the priests in the Methodist Church whose actions were none biblical.
