Ghanaians have been urged to serve God and the nation with genuine and repented hearts in all their undertakings in order to invoke God’s blessings upon themselves.

Overseer Samuel Awudi of the Great Commission Church International made the call on Sunday during a church service to mark Palm Sunday at New Santo near Kanawu in the Tema West Constituency.

He said as humans, we were capable of making mistakes but if we repent of them and develop positive attitudes then we would bring prosperity to our nation.

He said being born again was not enough as Christians, but that they must always make conscious efforts to bear fruits worthy of their repentance.

The Overseer appealed to Christians to desist from all forms of idol worshiping, saying “you cannot serve two masters, you have to choose to serve God whole-heartedly at all times”.

He also urged Christians to let the death of Jesus Christ reflect in their lives by living transformed lives through the renewal of their minds.

He said only through genuine repentance from the heart and walking in the spirit of humility that a person can truly serve God and country.

Overseer Awudi urged Ghanaians to learn to accept corrections with all humility adding that no one was perfect in anything.

“Repentance from the heart will enable us to forgive one another; the spirit of bitterness and un-forgiveness will destroy us as a people and deny us of God’s blessings,” he said.

Palm Sunday is a Christian celebration and usually falls on the Sunday before Easter Sunday. This event on the Christian calendar helps people remember the events that mark the glorious entry of Jesus into Jerusalem before his crucifixion.
