Sharing knowledge and love are marks of good leadership

Rt. Rev. Dr. Anyani-Boadum, Superintendent Bishop of Jesus Generation Ministry, on Wednesday said sharing love and knowledge was the mark of a good religious leader.

He advised religious leaders not to let monetary gains be their priority, but rather share words of encouragement, compassion and love to all, especially to the poor, widows and the needy.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Anyani-Boadu gave the advice during the elevation of Rev. Apostle John Felix Cobbinah, Founder and General Overseer of The Lamb of God Ministry at Darkuman in Accra, to a Presiding Bishop.

Rt. Rev. Dr. Anyani-Boadu was assisted at the ceremony by Rev. Dr. John Agyeman Boateng, President, Day Star Bible College and Bishop Emmanuel Ackum of the Victory Bible Church International.

Bishop Cobbinah received a certificate of ordination and now bears the ecclesiastical title of Right Reverend.

A citation by the Executive Board and the entire membership of the Ministry noted that, Bishop Cobbinah, for the past 40 years has been faithful to the call of duty and has discharged his service in all the four areas of dedication, diligence, devotion and distinction.

“Now therefore, in recognition of your meritorious service and inspiring leadership, the National Board and the entire membership of the Lamb of God Ministry have the honour and privilege to present to you this citation on this august occasion marking your elevation to the position of a Presiding Bishop for this Ministry.”

They also paid a glowing tribute to the wife of the Bishop, Mrs Mary Cobbinah, affectionately called Mama Mary, for being a pillar and hope for her husband during the trying and challenging period of the church.

In a sermon, Rev. Dr. Boateng called on the congregation to assist Bishop Cobbinah in his endeavours for the growth of the Ministry.

Bishop Cobbinah in an interview with newsmen said his new position comes with a lot of challenges which he hoped the Almighty will help him to overcome, to enable him to spread the gospel.

He urged present and upcoming pastors not to allow money to cloud their minds to do things contrary to the direction and the teachings of the Bible.

He said the church, which started in Accra in a classroom, now has 10 branches at Tema, Winneba, Ekuamkrom, Agona-Nyarkrom, Papasi, Kasoa, Ngleshie Amanfro, Obuasi and Diewuokrom.

“We have been donating gifts to the 37 Military Hospital, orphanages at Bawjiase and the Akawe Leprosarium in Accra, as our social responsibility,” he said, adding that, the Ministry would extend the gesture to other needy schools in Darkuman.
