The Tema Area of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) International has held a convention at GTP Park in Community ‘4’ to thank God for a successful Easter celebration.
The convention which had “That I May Know Him” as its theme, brought together members of the church from all the nine circuits forming the Tema Area, namely Kpone, Sarkumono, Prampram, Great Ningo and Kasseh.
The rest were the Tema New Town and Tema Communities ‘4’, ‘6’ and ‘12’.
In a message, Rev Prosper Dogbey Agbaglo, Tema Area Head of the CAC and Host Pastor, pointed out that the resurrection of Jesus was the anchor of the Christian faith, adding that, the purpose of his death would have been incomplete if Christ did not resurrect.
“Our victory over sin and Satan lies on the death and the resurrection of Jesus because this wisdom of God totally defeated the enemy.”
Rev Agbaglo said the celebration of Easter does not only show the acknowledgement and appreciation of Christians of what Christ suffered and achieved for them, but it also reminds them of the devils total defeat.
He said an understanding of the devil’s defeat empowers Christians to challenge the enemy and exercise their authority over him in Jesus name.
Rev Agbaglo, who is also the Acting Territorial Secretary of Accra East of the Church and the National Leader of the Christ Witness Movement urged Christians to use Easter to give gifts to the needy and loved ones and to also spend time with their families.
On the ongoing biometric voters’ registration, the Tema Area Head of CAC advised Ghanaians not to involve themselves in any act of violence, adding; “Our nation was not founded on violence, but on the sound political ideology.”
He advised politicians to use peaceful and reconciliatory language in their campaigns in order to encourage their supporters to ensure a violence-free election in December.
Apostle Isaac Mensah-Abrampah, Evangelism Director and Territorial Apostle of the Church, who delivered the sermon, advised Christians to use the Easter celebrations to reflect soberly on their lives and practice the virtue of humility, truthfulness and sincerity.
Apostle Mensah-Abrampah also urged them to engage in works of charity “by extending a helping hand to the less-privileged and needy in society.”
The Evangelism Director also advised Ghanaians not to fall to the parochial and self-fish interest of some politicians, by engaging in violent acts to mar the biometric registration exercise.**
