The Leader of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in the World His Holiness Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad has condemned the recent terrorist attacks and wars in parts of the world.
His Holiness Masroor Ahmad said “the present day wars and terrorism are for economic and geo political gains on the part of the perpetrators”.
The Leader of World Ahmadiyya Muslim Community was addressing the National Peace Symposium on how Muslims can contribute to peace and cohesion in London-UK and the world at large.
The landmark event 'Justice, The Foundation for Lasting Peace' took place at Baitul Futuh Mosque in Morden, Surrey in London-UK.
The symposium reasserts the role of religion in promoting peace, emphasizing that the true teachings of Islam are the solution and not the problem.
The symposium also stressed the need for justice and equanimity in the handling of international relations to avoid regional conflicts from erupting into a world war.
Ministers, MPs, diplomats, mayors, religious and civic leaders converged on Western Europe’s biggest mosque to hear at first-hand how Muslims are themselves countering extremism.
More than 21 countries were represented at the landmark event which also received a special message of support from the Vatican and brought together more than 800 people from the world of faith, politics and civic society.
Delivering the keynote address at the National Peace Symposium in London, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad said “such attacks are a modern day evil because there are no justifications for suicide attacks or any form of terrorism”.
He added that “there is no need for Islamophobia because a true Islam is the true means to peace and the Holy Qur’an unequivocally calls for the establishment of peace and calls on Muslims to act compassionately towards all of mankind”.
The Leader explained that “rules and laws exist and punitive actions are taken but punishment is only for reformation not for retribution. There should be a mutual dialogue negotiations and the last resort force”.
He added that “if such trading is taking place, how do we ensure justice in the fight against terrorism. Without justice it, will be difficult to defeat the terrorist”.
“It will be better for all forms cruelty to be suppressed and virtues promoted and the world has not accepted this” leader of World Ahmadiyya Muslim Community told the multitude.
He reminded all that “there is no need to be afraid of the truth”, saying, “it is better to forgive and forget and no one has the right to force Islam or any religion on anybody”.
Speaking on the media in the world, His Holiness Mirza Masroor Ahmad said “the role of media in influencing public opinion is crucial. He added that “the media focus should be on true Islam, not on the insurgencies”.
He said “the media is feeding the propaganda and in doing so, you invite God’s wrath”.
Major world powers have continued instead to focus on regime change and this has sent such nations into state of lawlessness. This is something I warned of some years ago”, he told the media.
