The Apostolic Church holds convention

Accra, Dec. 21, GNA - The Reverend Samuel Tetteh Walker, Adabrak= a District Head of The Apostolic Church of Ghana, has called on Ghanaians t= o have compassion for the under-previleged in society and help them to beco= me productive citizens to help build the nation.

He said Christmas must not be seen as a period of merry-making o= nly but a time of reflection, showing love to one another, and taking stock o= f the past year to realize one's short-comings. It was also an opportune moment to intensify efforts towards national development.

The Rev. Walker made the call at the end of a four-day Pre-Christ= mas Convention which ended in Accra on Sunday. It was held under the theme, "He Came".

The Rev. Walker said Christians would be doing a disservice to th= e nation if they did not allow the teaching of Jesus Christ to reflect in their daily lives.

He called on religious leaders to use the pulpit to educate their=

members on government's policies and programmes. The Rev. Walker t= ook the opportunity to advise drivers to desist from driving under the influe= nce of alcohol in order to save life and property. 21 Dec. 09
