The church should purge society of evil

Kumasi, Aug. 29, GNA - The Mount Olivet Methodist Church Men's Fellowship has celebrated its sixth anniversary with a thanksgiving and induction service at Ayeduase in Kumasi. The theme for the event was 93Living a healthy life in this contempor= ary society." In a speech, Mr Edward Asante Nketiah, Kumasi Diocesan Vice Chairman o= f the Association of the Methodist Men's Fellowship, said as 93soldiers of Christ", they should do more to purge the society of evil. He said they need to carry the fight to Satan by stepping up their evangelization to help bring salvation to more people.

He urged them to honour all pledges they make and to also assist make life a bit comfortable for the poor, deprived and socially disadvantaged. Mr Nketiah advised the elected officers, who were inducted into office= , to cooperate with the members, the leadership of the church as well as othe= r organizations in the church.

He implored them to lead exemplary lives to attract others into their fold. Reverend Kingsley Sarfo Kwateng, Minister in charge of the Church, asked the members to take active part in all church programmes, especially evangelism. Rev Kwateng commended the Fellowship for its significant contribution towards the implementation of the church's development programmes. A citation was presented to Mr James Edmund Acquah, Diocesan Assistant Treasurer of the Fellowship, and six other members for their meritorious services.
