The Tijjaniya Muslims of Ghana (TMG) has called all religious organisations and other stakeholders to join hands in fighting extreme groups and ideologies within the Ghanaian communities.

The statement commended the family of Nazir on their efforts to eliminate injustice and violent extremism in Ghana and the world at large.

It said the initiative by the family to report their son, who allegedly joined the terrorist group, ISIS whiles studying in Tunisia must be seen as a courageous move and a holy activity that merits Allah's rewards.

It called on all Muslim families around the world and Ghana in particular to be wary of the friends and acquaintances that their children make and monitor their activities, particularly the usage of technology as means of advancing their lives.

“The Tijjaniya Muslims in Ghana, as a Sufi order, believes in moderation in Islam, freedom, advancement of universal human rights and practicing all religions sincerely for the sake of Allah alone,” it said.
