Beposo (Ash), April 5, GNA - The Leader and Founder of the Gospel Revival Church of Christ, Bishop John N.K Boateng, has raised concern about what he described as unhealthy rivalry among the clergy.

He said the situation where they behave like competitors to attract attention and glory to themselves does not augur well for the growth, unity and image of Christianity.

Bishop Boateng was preaching at a four-day national convention of the Church held at Beposo in the Bosomtwe district to coincide with the 20th anniversary celebration of the Beposo branch.

"With God nothing is impossible" was the theme. He said the clergy should appreciate that they were in God's Ministry to turn people away from evil and bring to them salvation. "Nobody should portray himself or his church as better than the others."

Bishop Boateng urged his colleague pastors to remain faithful and ensure that the truth was told saying "those of us holding the Bible should have the courage to tell the people the truth at all times". He said this was important because they would one day be called upon to account for their stewardship to God.

Bishop Boateng also appealed to members to work hard to grow spiritually and support the fight to reduce poverty.

He told them "to eschew laziness, litigation, lies, pride, selfishness, greed and hypocrisy and work assiduously towards improving their lives". Bishop Boateng spoke against the growing destruction of the environment and water bodies and said it was time this was stopped. 5 April 10
