The Victory Congregation of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana at Frafraha Adentan in the Ga West Municipality has launched its 25th anniversary celebrations on the theme: “Celebrating 25 years of God’s Grace and faithful stewardship.”

Reverend Lydia Annorwaa, the second Minister at the Victory Congregation speaking at the launch in Accra, said they were grateful to the Lord for how far they had come.

The church, which started in January 1993 with eleven member now boasts of over 3,000 members.

She noted that the successful story of the church was purely by the Grace of God.“For us as a church we believe that it is the Grace of God which has brought us this far,” she said.

Reverend Annorwaa added that the church had achieved more because of the trust they had in God and encouraged members to also put their trust in God. “We want to challenge all members especially Presbyterians that they must trust in the Lord, because we agree with the Psalmist in Psalm 125 which says that those who trust in the Lord are like mountain Zion which cannot be shaken but endures forever.

As the mountain around Jerusalem so the Lord surrounds his people. And we believe that one of the key thing that has brought the church this far is that we trusted in God. And we want to challenge everybody to trust in God and commit everything concerning their life unto him.”

Mr Samuel Gyakye Mensah, the Planning Committee Chairman for the anniversary said over the church’s 25 years of existence, it had contributed immensely to the development of the community and wellbeing of humanity.

He said the church had a school up to the Junior High School level with a population of over 3,000 students and ranked among the best schools in the Municipality and also runs a scholarship scheme from basic education level to the tertiary level for members qualified for it.

He said the church also engaged in other social responsibilities were aimed at helping the poor and vulnerable in the community including; a Prison programme that supports inmates of the Adentan Prison.

Mr Mensah said that various activities had been lined-up for the celebration including; family day out at the Legon Botanical Gardens in April, , health and career counselling session in August, donations in October and a revival in December.

He said the Committee planned all these activities to make the celebration a remarkable one as the church continuedto preach Christ.

“What we hope to achieve is cordiality among members of the church. We want spiritual up-liftment of members of the church. And we want a lot of people to come and join the church so that they can know who Christ is,” Mr Mensah said. He urged members to participate in all activities to make the celebration a success.
