Walk in aid of "Clean water project" marked

Accra, March 28, GNA- About 12,000 people on Saturday participated in an 18-kilometre walk organised by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) with the aim of generating funds for the church's "Clean Water Project". The walk dubbed; "Life walk" which is an annual event is used to promote the physical well-being of participants and to also raise funds to support the Church's social development projects in selected communities.

Accra, March 28, GNA- About 12,000 people on Saturday participated in an 18-kilometre walk organised by the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) with the aim of generating funds for the church's "Clean Water Project". The walk dubbed; "Life walk" which is an annual event is used to promote the physical well-being of participants and to also raise funds to support the Church's social development projects in selected communities. Dr. Mensa Otabil, General Overseer of ICGC at the end of the walk said, over the years funds generated through the walk and other social events organised by the church were used to support the construction of a GH¢ 200,000 2-storey 50-bed fully furnished boy's hostel for the Osu Children's Home in Accra. He said, the "ICGC Clean Water project" was currently being executed in the Ga West Municipal Area in the Greater Accra Region with the construction of twenty boreholes fitted with hand pumps to serve over fifteen communities at a cost of GH¢ 200,000. Dr. Otabil said so far, six of the boreholes have been constructed and are in use in five communities namely, Atoman, Aborborkodzi, Kokoman, Pobiman and Sapeiman with the next batch of six boreholes fitted with hand pumps constructed by the end of June this year. He called on corporate institutions and interested stakeholders whose social responsibility objectives are aligned to that of the church to partner it in the "ICGC Clean Water project".
