The Asante Presbytery Chairperson of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana, the Reverend Kofi Amfo-Akonnor, has urged the government to aggressively fight corruption to save the nation’s faltering economy.
He said: “Our leaders should sit up and tackle corruption with zeal to help fix the economy and stop asking for prayers.
“We have prayed enough and the time is up for us to get to work.”
The Rev. Amfo-Akonnor, who was opening the 92nd Presbytery conference of the church in Kumasi, blamed the current socio-economic difficulties on weak leadership and the lack of political will to enforce the law.
