Accra, Sept. 14, GNA - Rev Prince Tefe, Synod Clerk of the Global Evangelical Church

(GEC), has said we all needed the backing of God to succeed due to the traumatic nature of life's journey.

He said The road of life is rough so seek direction from Christ". Rev Tefe who was delivering a sermon at the end of a four day rally organized by the

Accra Presbytery Choir's Union of the GEC called on Christians to do only the will of God.

The rally which is celebrated every other year was on the theme: "Step up your effort, that none should perish (2 Peter 3:9)". The occasion is normally used to encourage the choristers to live worthy lives befitting the messages in their songs and lyrics.

Rev Tefe who preached from John 5:30, said just as Jesus sought not to please himself but God, all attempts by Christians without God's will would come to nothing.

He said surrendering to the will of God would build the moral stamina of Christians which would in turn help strengthen the good morals in Ghanaians for national development.

He said just as government and all other employers were able to pay their employees God would also reward all the efforts of Christians and added the reward of Christians was not only in heaven but would also be received on earth.

Rev Kafui Aglago, Presbytery Coordinator of the Accra Presbytery Choirs' Union, said it was difficult being a chorister because of the time consuming rehearsals.

He called on the choristers to put into practice all that they had learnt during the rally to build themselves not only for the kingdom of God but for the development of the nation.

Mr Samuel Kodzo, President of the group, said the choristers were saturated with the teachings they received during the rally and expressed the optimism that it would positively impact on their lives.

A Choral competition among the 27 choirs in the Accra Presbytery had the Mamprobi branch of the GEC being adjudged first, with Lashibi second, while Mataheko came third.
