Who Is Your Saviour?

When you are in trouble who do you cry unto for protection and support to get you out from that problem?

Do you look up to the almighty God who created you or you look up to trees, stones, rivers, lakes, sea, wind or helpless gods some where for help?

This is a one million times question for many people to answer especially those claiming to be Christians in our societies or communities.

Yes people describing themselves as Christians since commuting from one end to the other looking for all sorts of solutions to all kinds of problems they face in their daily lives are the right people to ask this question.

As for those who are not Christians, we know what they look up to when they are in trouble as they openly confess to all who and what they consult when they are in need so it is not important to worry about non Christians.

In a recent article titled,” Missionary or Mercenary” I stated that worshiping the lord God is sacred as it soothes the soul all the time whether one is in trouble or not.

No but when non Christians find themselves in trouble or any serious need, don’t you hear them confessing openly that this trouble beats my understanding therefore I am going to get solution from Nana so, so and so?

“This problem is not real am going to consult “obosom a onidin” to wit god without name, for direction as to how to come out from it” or they do not say anything as they secretly embark on their consultation spree.

Many Christians also try to look for solutions to their problems but only a few of them strictly stick and stay with their bibles in doors and seek the face of the lord directly without consulting certain pastors.

Once again let me state clearly here that God’s main purpose for creating human beings was to have his image to worship him like the angels in heaven who are worshiping him morning, noon, day and night without getting tired, simple.

Lucifer, as jealous of God’s glory and power as the angels worshiped the almighty one, poisoned the minds of other angels and defied God’s order for them to worship him and were cast out of heaven which they landed on this earth creating all sorts of sin for mankind.

But God so merciful to mankind provided a way for us by freely giving out his forgotten son to die on the cross to wipe away all sins from the world and restore Gods love and peace between him and mankind.

Psalm 91 confirms this as it reminds us that the Lord is our fortress therefore urging all to live under his protection and stay in the shadows of him the all powerful.

The whole chapter rekindles the spirit and rebuilds the faith one has in God but the fourteenth verse to the sixteenth verse of the chapter is so clear that one does not need any interpretation.

It reads: The lord says,” if you love me and truly know who I am, I will rescue and keep you save. When you are in trouble call out to me I will answer and be there to protect and honour you. You will live a long life and see my saving power” very simple for man to do.

So why are people running around looking for solutions to their problems from human beings, rivers, trees, stones, lifeless and helpless gods that have eyes but can not see, hands but can no shake, legs but can not walk, mouths but can not talk and nose but can not breathe?

Verse 11 tells us what will happen if we look up to God and only God for our solutions by saying,” God will command his angels to protect you wherever you go. They will carry you in their arms and you won’t hurt your feet on the stones. You will overpower the strongest lions and the deadly snakes.

A holy spirit filled reverend minister of Ghana Methodist Church, Rev. Samuel Mpreh, once preaching at the Toronto branch urged members to always use the word of God to smash any problem that comes their way.

The whole congregation at that time laughed watching how Reverend Mpreh demonstrated with the bible smashing a problem in the pulpit. But fellow readers it is true as I bear many testimonies to that.

David and Goliath story bear testimony to that where David praised God through hymnals that brought the power from God unto him to defeat Goliath.

Jesus Christ the holy begotten son demonstrated to all by praying 40 days 40 nights in the wilderness invoking the holy spirit of the lord that enable him to defeat the devil in all his ministry.

Whenever I find myself in trials and tribulations, I pick the bible, read the Psalms, full of praises to God and within short time the face of the lord will shine brightly on me.

It really works as you raise your right hand and praise God whiles submitting your prayer request to him as I was taught by Reverend Jacob William French at a retreat in Montreal, the answers kept on coming boom, boom, and boom.

Fellow readers let us look up to God any time we find ourselves in trouble, with faith and praises the omnipotent one will provide the answers to our problems.

Who do you look up to when facing problems? God the omnipotent one or some persons claiming to have solutions or some trees, rivers, lakes, forests, priest or self acclaim bishops somewhere? Even they praise and look up to God what about you?

Let us look up to God who sits on his throne in heaven places for solutions when facing problems simple and easy.
