Kumasi, Oct 28, GNA - Mr Richard Omena-Asiedu, a Quantity Surveyor in Kumasi, has said that the Presbyterian Church of Ghana had evolved a new property management policy to ensure its properties were well managed and protected.
He said the policy was necessitated by the careless manner its properties were being managed by some of its office workers and urged them to abide by the new policy.
Mr Omena-Asiedu said this at a day's orientation course organised by the Department of Human Resource Development of the Ashanti Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana for staff in the Ashanti Region in Kumasi at the weekend.
Forty-two participants including drivers, security personnel, secretaries and account officers attended the course. Mr Omena-Asieduo appealed to the Accounts Officers to shun accounting malpractices and to be diligent in their work to help ensure the development of the church's financial base. Mr Maxwell Aidoo, a Technical Officer at the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA) in Kumasi, said most accidents were caused by human error and advised the drivers to adhere to motor traffic rules and regulations.
He cautioned drivers and the public to avoid applying for licenses from the DVLA through middlemen since they could give them fake ones.
The Reverend Moses Opoku- Agyemang, Superintendent Minister in-charge of the Yennyawaso Presbyterian Church in Kumasi, said the course was the second in the series of programmes lined up by the church to develop its human resource.
