Youth urged to stop shortest way of getting rich

Gomoa Jukwa (C/R), March 1, GNA- Pastor Richard Ntriakwa, Director of Gomoa Jukwa Seventh Day Adventist Senior High School, has warned the youth to desist from using quick ways of getting rich overnight. He said many of them had resorted to internet intimate friends popularly known as "pen pals" to defraud certain prominent personalities world-wide which was having negative effects on the country. Pastor Ntriakwa, who is also the Chaplain of the school made these remarks at the investiture of the 15 Master Guilds of the school on Saturday at Gomoa Jukwa, Agona Swedru, in the Central Region. He also cautioned students who used short and fraudulent means to acquire school certificate to stop the practice and study hard in order to avoid future problems.

Pastor Ntriakwa called on the State security services to help clamp down on these youth who engage in such dubious practices. The Director noted that it was good for them to pursue higher education since this internet fraud has no future and it could bring untold hardship to them.

Pastor Emmanuel Caesar, Youth Director, Southern Conference of SDA Church said the Master Guild in the church had helped to train the youth to become good leaders in future in order to hold positions in various sectors of the country.

He noted that, it would also assist them to leave exemplary life and avoid immorality to ensure general development of the country. Pastor Caesar urged the youth to desist from violence and learn to accept divergent views from others to promote peace and tranquility. He said the nation needed peace to progress, adding that, if there was no peace and understanding, government would not be able to adopt proper plans to improve the living conditions of Ghanaians. 01 March 09
