Wenchi(B/A), Jan. 05, GNA - Reverend John K. Mensah of Assemblies of God Church International, Ghana, has urged Ghanaians to express appreciation to God for the peace and understanding that ensured a stable nation in 2006.

Preaching at an end of year service at Wenchi in Brong-Ahafo, he noted that while there were conflicts and wars in some countries, Ghanaians continued to live in harmony.

He advised the congregation to take stock of their lives and activities for last year and improve on their shortfalls to become useful citizens for the country.

Rev. Mensah urged them to focus on achieving a goal in life and have confidence and faith in God.

He advised the youth to eschew negative tendencies such as sexual promiscuity, alcoholism and other social vices. Rev. Mensah called on the unemployed youth to learn vocations and embark on income-generating activities while he appealed to political leaders and traditional authorities to render selfless service to help advance national development.

Miss Patricia Baffoe 24, a citizen of Wenchi based in the United Kingdom presented a guitar valued at about two million cedis to the church. She said her gesture was in appreciation of God's love for mankind.
