Tema, July 14, GNA-The Reverend Felix Mensah Agbo, Acting Presbytery Chairman of the Accra Presbytery of the Global Evangelical Church, has added his voice to the call on political parties to consider women as their running mates. He said this would ensure fair and gender balance at the executive level of Ghana's political administration. Reverend Agbo was speaking at the induction of Reverend Samuel Yao Kwami as the new Parish Pastor of the Tema branch of the Church at Tema on Sunday.

He said women empowerment was an essential tool for achieving accountability and transparency in the governance of the nation and that everything possible must be done to encourage them. Rev. Agbo said the time is ripe for women to exhibit their prowess and expressed the hope that given the enabling environment, they would work and contribute, their quota to national development. He charged the youth not to allow themselves to be used by disgruntled politicians to score political points. Rev. Agbo also appealed to the youth to contribute to the development of the country by refraining from acts which would hinder national development.

Rev. Kwami thanked the Church for the confidence reposed in him and called for support of the entire congregation to enable him to discharge his duties efficiently.
