Methodist Church institutes compulsory training programme Guild members

Kumasi, Aug. 23, GNA - The leadership of the Methodist National Guild, Ghana, has announced that it would as from January, next year, commence a compulsory leadership training programme for members. The leadership said the move, among others, was aimed at equipping members with the relevant skills and knowledge to help build their capacity in taking more challenging roles in the church's development, as well as, their own socio- economic endeavours especially in the areas of parenting and business.

Mr Enoch Baah, National President of the Guild, disclosed this at the 8th Biennial Delegates Conference and Crusade of the Kumasi Diocesan Guild of the Methodist Church Ghana at Hemang, near Mamponteng in the Kwabre District of Ashanti on Friday. It was on the theme: "To Work and Think and Speak for Thee". The National President reminded members that, those who failed to participate in the training programme would be barred from taking up leadership positions at all levels of the church, adding that, the programme had been designed to suit members of the guild irrespective of one's educational background.

Mr. Baah further disclosed that the outfit, would as from September this year, start granting scholarships to brilliant but needy children of members of the guild to enhance their career and educational development. He charged members to be committed to the cause of the guild to promote the Church's evangelism.
