The Christ Apostolic Church International’s prayer camp (Promiseland) at Anum Apapam in the Eastern Region, at the weekend ended a week-long crusade at Achiansa near Suhum with a prayer for stress-free December presidential and parliamentary elections.

Closing the crusade, Prophetess Elizabeth Quayeba Abradu, General Overseer of the prayer camp, called on all religious bodies to join hands to pray for the President, Vice President, parliamentarians, politicians, the Electoral Commission the Ghana Police Service and other key stakeholders in the upcoming general election.

The crusade was on the theme: “Know your future today.”

Prophetess Quayeba urged the leadership of the political parties to desist from the politics of insults that had characterised the national discourse.

She asked the political parties to obey the electoral laws and the Political Party Codes of Conduct for Election 2012 to ensure incident-free elections.

According to her, there was the need for the flagbearers of the political parties to “polish” their debates to help introduce an issue-driven approach to their campaigns, adding: “This would help them move away from personality attacks, acrimony and help to calm tensions.”**
