Alhaji Baaba Seidu, Deputy Brong- Ahafo Regional Chief Imam, has called on Christians and Muslims to live together in peace and unity.

Alhaji Seidu made the call in a solidarity message at the Second National Pastoral Conference of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Ghana at Fiapre near Sunyani.

The conference on the theme “The New Evangelism for the Transmission of the Christian Faith in Ghana in the Light of Africae Munus” was attended by 135 Archbishops and Bishops of the Catholic Church in Ghana.

He said there was no need to fight over religious beliefs because discrimination against any religion could cause disunity in any society.

Alhaji Seidu explained that Islam represented peace and not chaos as being perceived by some people adding “Since there are bad nuts in every organization, there may be few who could be radicals and rock the boat of peace”.

He said peace and development could be maintained in any nation despite the dominant religion and called for unity among the citizenry.

Alhaji Seidu appealed to the youth not to allow themselves to be influenced by politicians to achieve their selfish interests but work hard to contribute their quota to national development.
