The Right Reverend Dr Festus Yeboah-Asuamah, Anglican Bishop of the Sunyani Diocese, has implored Ghanaians to appreciate and glorify God for national peace and stability.

He observed that God has spared the nation of the deadly Ebola disease and external attacks, stressing that the only way Ghanaians could appreciate God was to serve Him in holiness and righteousness.

Rt Rev Dr Yeboah-Asuamah gave the advice in his Christmas message made available to the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in Sunyani on Wednesday.

“God has supplied us with enough food, although we have difficulties in electricity supply,” he said.

The Anglican Bishop emphasized that as the second coming of Jesus Christ was imminent, the economic situation was not going to be easy in coming years, but affirmed that “with Jesus Christ in our boat, we can smile at the storms”.

Rt Rev Yeboah-Asuamah called for love and social cohesion among all Ghanaians irrespective of one’s religious, political and ethnic background to strengthen national peace and security.

He advised the youth to avoid excessive alcoholism, drug abuse and immorality.

He entreated drivers, especially commercial drivers to guard against drunk-driving and strictly observe road signs and regulations.

Rt Rev Dr Yeboah-Asuamah stated that road accidents decreased during the Christmas festivities and cautioned drivers against behaviour that could erode the gains.
