Reverend Reuben Owusu Asenso, the Kwadaso District Minister of the Presbyterian Church- Ghana has called on Christians to ensure that the ethics and tenets of the bible are applied at home.
He said “since education begins from the home, children are bound to copy what they see at home, so it behooves parents to live by the word of God for the children to emulate”.
In an interview with the Ghana News Agency, Reverend Asenso said by inculcating the word of God into the children they would grow to become disciplined and God-fearing citizens.
This, he said, would save the nation from all forms of corrupt practices and behaviours.
“Children learn from parents and peers and would turn to their peers if they lack proper direction at home. A good direction from parents would make better children,’’ Reverend Owusu Asenso said.
He urged parents to put the gospel into practice at home by teaching their children to live and grow by the word of God, while they also did the same.
Reverend Owusu Asenso, who doubles as the Senior Minister of the Trinity Congregation of the Presbyterian Church, Ghana at Kwadaso, near Kumasi said: “If parents shirk this responsibility, we would produce irresponsible citizens whose behavior and actions would retard societal growth and national transformation.
“Let’s therefore, teach our children the right way to go, so that when they grow, they would not depart from it,’’ Reverend Owusu Asenso said.
