The Kaneshie district minister of the Presbyterian Church of Ghana (PCG) Rev. Dr. Godwin Nii Noi Odonkor has charged church leaders to boldly and constructively speak against the ills in society.

According to him, church leaders should be seen to engage in public advocacy and education that affects the livelihoods of Ghanaians.

Rev. Dr. Odonkor who is a former Chairperson of the Ga Presbytery made this admonition in a sermon he delivered when twelve ministerial probationers were ordained at the Grace Congregation at Akropong Akuapem in the Eastern Region.

Preaching on the theme: "Jesus the Lord over our storm", the Presbyterian priest asked the newly ordained ministers to obey and listen to the voice of God.

He said being close to Christ is the assurance of salvation.

"There would be other powers and authorities but Jesus is the Lord. Life is not all that you see now because as the days go by heavy storms would blow in your lives but you must have faith and stand firm. You would be confronted with many challenges but the only solution to that is to call on God," he advised.

Rev. Dr.Nii Noi Odonkor also called on the ministers to remain humble and live their lives just as the Lord Jesus Christ, this according to him is the surest way to get close to the God.

All the 12 ministers, who have completed their ministerial probationary studies in 2016, were commissioned into the Holy Ministry of the PCG.

Ministers ordained, included Rev. Howard Montero Addo Arko, Rev. (Mrs) Lydia Ahlijah, Rev. Alex Kwasi Asare, Rev. John Boateng, Rev. Richard Gyima Boateng and Rev. Abraham Kumi Gyeketey.

The rest are Rev. Frank Letsu, Rev. Emmanuel Misiame, Ree. Benjamin Ofosu, Rev.John Quarshie, Rev. Christian Fetor Tsormana, Rev. William Gyan Yirenkyi.
